Senior Urban Planner

We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Urban Planner/Master Planner to lead our growing Federal Planning team, in support of a broad spectrum of contracts. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of federal planning experience at minimum and must have, or must be able to obtain, an American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification. To be successful in this role, you must have the depth of industry experience and skills necessary to independently conduct all phases of master planning – facility, campus or installation planning; specifically, in terms of graphic and mapping expertise. The role will require supervision of Planning staff as well as being directly involved in day-to-day project operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Urban Planning / Master Planning
  • Space requirements development and analysis
  • Oversee all aspects of document production coordination
  • Ensure final deliverable surpasses clients’ expectations
  • Address clients’ concerns and mitigate issues in a customer-oriented manner
  • Lead, manage and assist in proposal preparation
  • Support project budgets and meet deadlines consistently
  • Manage projects from inception to completion
  • Provide status reports and operational briefs to clients and management
  • Mentor, manage and train direct reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Landscape Architecture from an ABET-accredited university
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • GIS (ArcMap), Military Planning Criteria, Google SketchUp, or related software
  • Intermediate/Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Intermediate/Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Exceptional writing, editing and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in Planning or Landscape Architecture from an ABET-accredited university
  • AICP Certification
  • RLA License
